Global Electronics News App for Electropages

Android & iOS Electronics News App

Overview

Electropages is an electronics news resource with a global readership. To help Electropages deliver a consistent brand experience across multiple devices, Zeta developed a complete range of mobile apps including iPad, iPhone and Android.

Electropages have excellent up-to-date information on the latest products in the electronics engineering industry, but prior to working with Zeta, could only deliver this via desktops and a mobile website. Consequently, they wanted to improve the user experience and create a bigger, long-term user base.

What we did

Focused on building the user base, Zeta created iPhone, Android and iPad apps to make it easier, more engaging and convenient for the Electropages global following of engineers and designers to get the latest industry and product news. To further grow the community, Zeta also used app marketing - including App Store optimisation - to get the apps appearing higher in the app stores.

The app also includes a "My News" section for a personalised news feed. Plus the ability to share an email list of favorited articles or posts and be able to swipe to the next article and related news on the article page. And now all Banner ads are being served from DFP - Doubleclick for Publishers.

The success

Electropages is one of the only electronics news publishers to invest in mobile apps, resulting in the app ranking in Google for ‘Electronics news’ and over 123,000 individuals actively engaging via Android, iPhone and iPad.

Over 35,000 registered users have individually requested the weekly 'product update' newsletter, which is regularly distributed to them by e-mail, as well as a Push Notification to the Electropages IOS Apps.

To ease the process of downloading the app, the app shown in Google search corresponds to the device the user is searching from. For example, if you were to search Google on an iPhone you will see the app for iOS.
