Multi language iPad App for BMW


The automotive manufacturing industry works closely with dealer networks to deliver effective and efficient after-sales service which is where good profits are made. Interestingly BMW and Mini had historically never deployed a marketing program to support the sale of genuine BMW parts to the trade.

RLA commissioned Zeta to develop and build an iPad app for use by BMW representatives in the field to support the sale of BMW parts and to support RLA with planning, the back-end and design. The design of the app was to facilitate innovative and productive communications between the BMW sales arm and the dealer network worldwide. And to deliver geographic specific marketing support for new and existing partners through a global marketing strategy.


What we did

Zeta accomplished all the native iOS development and supported RLA with the evolution of the back-end and overall design. The challenging process of planning the data structure, and how the iPad tool would connect to a back-end sourcing large amounts of ever-evolving data, was overcome by Zeta, resulting in a very accomplished solution. The iPad app was released through the Apple Enterprise License, allowing for internal use within the organisation.

The app includes a user login, an update back up functionality, customer database, an opportunity calculator, appointment planning and a parts catalogue.

The success

The app is now being used by BMW Representatives to support the sale of BMW parts worldwide. The iPad app was first released in English and is now also available in Polish, Portuguese, Czech, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Swedish, Russian and French.

Zeta has been supporting the app for RLA and BMW for 3 years and new features and content are regularly added.
