A little overview

Hampshire Top Attractions, HTA, is a marketing consortium composed of Hampshire’s leading tourist attractions with members such as Beaulieu, Marwell Zoo and Paultons Park. The members are managed by The Marketing Collective, a destination marketing company that specialises in collaboration for the tourism, arts and culture industries. As they were looking for a complete rebuild of the website, Zeta was delighted to be appointed their new web agency, and started building their new responsive website in the autumn 2016.

What we did

The new responsive site offers visitors an engaging experience whether they are planning an upcoming holiday from the comforts of their home, or require quick information from their mobile phone whilst on the go.

On the new website Hampshire attractions are featured with fresh, up-to-date information and homepage content that changes slightly with every visit to the site. This will ensure that attractions are represented fairly and visitors are always welcomed with fresh, inspirational content.

To help with ease of content management of the site, each attraction has their own login to a customised admin area where they can manage and publish their own events to the site. The website also features a built-in voucher system that enables visitors to sign up to download discount vouchers to their favourite attractions.

With interactive filters visitors can quickly find suitable attractions by filtering by keywords as well as locations. The homepage also features an interactive map for a quick overview of what Hampshire has to offer.

The success

The previous website had a strong organic presence in Google which had to be transferred to the new website without losing any traffic. Our team successfully carried this out by following our own custom SEO plan but we also managed to improve their traffic by finding legacy pages that hadn’t been properly forwarded in the past.

Just in the first month, the new website is showing some impressive figures for total visits, bounce rate and pages per session. The speed of the site has increased significantly as our developers optimised the page loading times by implementing lazy loading, script and style minification and also moved the site to a dedicated VPN server.

As we continue working on their online marketing we feel confident that with the new site HTA is equipped to become the one-stop-shop for families looking to visit the Hampshire area.
