Hi Thorsten

Thanks for commenting on the post. I agree that microblogging is not going to take over from email, but it is a better choice for group communication with friends and employees, dependant on content.

I don’t really see how the systems will get used as a press release spam engine because users can only post to their friends, employees and followers who must have an interest, so surely it is not spam.

There are actually some big names using Yammer like Xerox, Disney and the BBC. We are publishing an exclusive interview we had with the Yammer CEO David Hicks, make sure you check it out next week.

Thanks, Henry.

Unsure if I should fully agree to this. E-Mail is for me a media of communication for Information Hiding Specialists. How often is E-Mail used as an excuse for something? From an information perspective the email culture is completely different to a blogging and microblogging culture. E-Mail is delegation of knowledge, tasks and opinions. Where blogging is more about sharing, distributing and coaching.

In other words, I really hope that not all people using mail today will use Microbloggs like Noserub, Identi.ca or Facebook walls in the future. Why not? Because that will bring more and more people into those systems using it as a press release spam engine - or even more important update communication tool.

Blogging for me, and business blogging in particular is more me more taking people a hand and help them to get from A to B. Microblogging helps to put that into peaces. Make them as small that it fits to everyone in your audience. Picking up individuals - without loosing the mass.

To make me agree, I would change business communication completely which requires organizations to turn inside out. Companies that are quickly doing that and reinvent their enterprise. So far there are some early adopters - however I do not see any of the big names appearing on the scene.
